Terms of Use - ATS Signal
The terms that apply to ATS Signal's free resume checker and guides, including disclaimers, acceptable use, and limitations.
Plain-language summary. ATS Signal is a free, browser-based resume checker and guide site. It gives you an estimate and suggestions, not a guarantee of employment or an employer's ATS result. Use it lawfully, review your own document, and do not rely on it for legal, immigration, or career-counseling advice.
Key point: the checker is an informational tool. It does not make hiring decisions, and it does not replace a recruiter, a lawyer, or an immigration adviser. This summary is not a substitute for the full terms below.
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms govern your access to and use of ATS Signal, a free resume checker and guide site published by AI Agent USA. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. If you use the site for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. It is part of these terms. If these terms conflict with a mandatory consumer protection law, the law controls.
2. What the service is
ATS Signal provides a local text analysis of a resume compared with a job description. It checks parsing signals, core sections, evidence, and keyword coverage, then produces a heuristic score, a confidence range, and a fix list. It also publishes guides and role keyword pages for general job-search education.
The service is not a hiring platform, an applicant tracking system, an employment agency, a recruiting service, a career-counseling practice, or a legal service. We are not affiliated with any ATS vendor, job board, or resume-writing company. The score is not the score an employer's system will produce. These terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, or fiduciary relationship between you and us.
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time. The current version is free and does not require an account. We do not promise that a feature will remain available, that a file format will always parse, or that a report will be stored for you.
3. Who may use the service
You may use the service for personal, lawful job-search and career-planning purposes. You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are under 18, use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
You may not use the service if you are barred from doing so by applicable law or if you have been removed from the service for a serious violation. You may not use the service to evaluate another person for employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, or another high-impact purpose. The checker is designed for an individual reviewing their own document, not for automated screening of other people.
4. Local processing and your files
The checker reads files and pasted text in your browser. We do not receive or store the resume, job description, extracted text, or report. The report exists in the page's memory until you clear the form or close the page. Downloading a report creates a file on your device, and that file is your responsibility.
You are responsible for keeping a backup of your resume and for reviewing the final document before you submit it to an employer. Do not rely on the checker as the only copy of your resume. We cannot recover a file, report, or edit that is lost when a browser tab closes, a device fails, or a download is overwritten.
5. No professional advice or outcome guarantee
The score, confidence range, keyword list, examples, and fix list are informational estimates. They are not legal, immigration, tax, financial, medical, or licensed career-counseling advice. They are not a promise that you will receive an interview, a job offer, a promotion, a visa, or any other outcome.
Hiring decisions are made by employers and depend on factors we cannot see, including the employer's configuration, the recruiter's judgment, the candidate pool, timing, and internal requirements. We do not guarantee that a particular ATS will parse a document in a particular way, that a report is complete, or that a suggested change will improve your result.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the site lawfully and responsibly. You may not:
- Submit a resume, job description, or personal data that you do not have the right to use.
- Add skills, credentials, employers, dates, degrees, licenses, or achievements that are false or misleading.
- Use the site to harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, or discriminate against another person.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its host, or another user's device or data.
- Introduce malware, overload the service, bypass rate limits, or interfere with ordinary use.
- Scrape, crawl, or copy the site at a scale that degrades service or ignores our robots policy.
- Reverse engineer or copy the tool code except where the law or an open-source license allows it.
- Use bots or automated means to click ads, generate impressions, or manipulate advertising metrics.
- Use the report as the sole basis for an employment decision about another person or for a high-impact decision.
- Remove copyright, trademark, or other ownership notices from the site.
We may restrict or block access when we reasonably believe these rules have been violated or when access threatens the site or another person.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the resume, job description, and other text you process. Because the checker runs locally, we do not receive a license to that content. If you email us content, you give us permission to read it, respond to you, and keep the record needed to handle the request. Do not send content that you do not have the right to share.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for ensuring that your use of another person's information is lawful. We do not review, edit, publish, or store resume content as part of the checker.
If you send suggestions, corrections, or other feedback, you give us permission to use that feedback without payment or obligation to you. Do not send confidential ideas or materials that you want to keep proprietary. This feedback permission does not give us ownership of your resume or job description.
8. Intellectual property
The site design, original guides, role pages, and tool code are owned by AI Agent USA or used under license. You may use the checker and read the guides for personal, non-commercial job-search purposes. You may not republish, sell, sublicense, or systematically copy the guides or tool code without written permission.
You may link to public pages and quote a short passage with attribution for commentary, education, or news. Third-party libraries, fonts, and other components retain their own licenses. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our content to you.
ATS Signal, AI Agent USA, and their associated names and logos are our marks. Other product and company names, including ATS vendor names, are trademarks of their owners and are used only for identification. No endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation is implied.
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, email ghaffour2019@gmail.com with the subject "Copyright concern." Include the page URL, a description of the work you own, an explanation of the claimed overlap, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized, a statement that the information is accurate, and your name and contact details. We will review the notice and may remove or disable access while we investigate. This is a general notice process; it does not make us a DMCA agent or create a promise of a particular outcome.
9. Third-party links and advertising
The site may link to external resources, including Google privacy and advertising pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of every statement on the destination site.
If advertising is enabled, ads will be labeled or placed in a way that distinguishes them from editorial content. We do not place ads inside the resume workflow. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. Our privacy policy describes the choices we will provide before personalized advertising is enabled.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We make no warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, complete, or suitable for a particular employer or application. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement where the law allows.
You use the site at your own risk. You are responsible for the final document, the decision to apply for a role, and any reliance you place on a report or guide. You should review every change and verify every claim before submitting an application.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In those places, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing in these terms limits a right that cannot legally be limited.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AI Agent USA and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or reputational harm arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. This includes decisions you make after reading a report or guide.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the site will be limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which is zero for the current free service, or the minimum amount required by applicable law. This limitation applies whether a claim is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or another theory, and it survives the end of your use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AI Agent USA and its contributors from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person's rights. We may take control of the defense of a claim that affects us, and you agree to cooperate. This section does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own negligence or misconduct.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the publisher of ATS Signal, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence. The choice of law does not deprive you of a protection you cannot waive.
Before starting a formal dispute, email us at ghaffour2019@gmail.com with the subject "Legal" and a short description of the issue. Please allow at least 30 days for an informal response. If the issue is not resolved, a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction may hear the dispute. Nothing in this section prevents you from contacting a consumer or data protection authority, and nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief to protect intellectual property, privacy, or site security.
14. Changes, general terms, and contact
We may update these terms as the site changes or the law requires. The date at the top and bottom of this page shows the current version. We will make material changes visible on this page before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you have had the opportunity to read the revised terms.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the public site. You may not assign your rights under these terms without our permission. We may assign these terms to an affiliate, successor, or purchaser of the site. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and dispute provisions. These terms do not create rights for any third party. Headings are for convenience only.
Questions about these terms: ghaffour2019@gmail.com. Use the subject "Legal." For privacy requests, use the subject "Privacy" and see the privacy policy. For corrections, see the editorial policy.
